Advices for after a Bichectomy (cheek surgery)
Guadalupe Medical Business Group thinks it's important that you follow the next advices so your surgery is completely successful.
- You have to rest in bed for the first 12 hours after the surgery.
- Put a face towel with ice over the cheeks for the first 48 hours.
- You can have a normal diet ( except on special cases).
- You have to use the chin support the doctor put the day of the surgery.
- It's important that you assist to your control appointments as doctors recommendation. Remember to call our secretary for an appointment.
- If you feel any pain, you can take a common analgesic, as long as it's not aspirin.
- During the after surgery care avoid having any contact with animals ( dogs, cats, rabbits), at least for the first 20 days because this contact increases the chance of getting an infection.
- It's possible to get fever over 38°C. For that, you just have to take Analgesic. If the fever continues contact your doctor immediately.
- You should not be exposed to sun light until the bruiser and the swelling are gone.
- Avoid to smoke and be around smokers.
- Don't be near the stove when cooking.
- Don't do any physical activity or hard impact sports for three weeks after the surgery.
- You should not drive any kind of vehicle for the first week after the surgery.
